What is creative programming? Making art using technology.

I’ve learned that creation is a process, and to become a artist you have to make your own path.

Make something. Then share. Then get feedback. Then repeat.

Its a loop. A while(1) loop.

Exploring Creativity using Code

Coding creative content not only shows a great potential in life, but it is also a nice way to make new things, and combine with old concepts.

Creative coding is powerful, and I hope to show the secrets of it more and more.

I’ve made 2 Indie games which showed great feedbacks. And once, I won the ‘Epic game jam’ by public voting, and got a ticket to expose the game in Rock in Rio 2017.

It was great!

I’ve also made a software that simulates a tree, growing in 72 hours and dying in 30h. The “Yellow Ipê ” went to Portugal on the #16.ART International Meeting of Art and Technology

In the next few stories I plan to get a general overview on this kind of art, or software, if you may.

Do you want to start learning in a fun way?

There is tons of content teaching how to start programming, and the one that I’m currently following is this tutorial series on Youtube, made by the channel The Coding Train.

He is a great teacher, and goes from the most basic concepts of JavaScript to making a twitter bot and other beautiful challenges.

That’s just a surface of the iceberg of possibilities.

With the P5.JS library, I hope to increase the general perspective on how easy and fulfilling it is to make art using technology.
