The City
Poem 16
I keep thinking,
which city should I live?
This is silly, — I followed with hi.
Let’s drink some beer, — she said.
But I’m leaving tomorrow. — I said
For it to happen I had to understand
That today is the first day
of the rest of my life.
Although at first
there was only
a five minute meet
A signal — Amidst the noise of the city
It hadn’t any probability whatsoever
of it working out in our favor.
All I could do was to accept myself
Have faith in what I wanted
The universe kept pointing out a direction
That we could indeed
be close to divine,
we could be close to god.
Working together
we could rule the greatest kingdom.
Our own home.
I said:
Meet me here for coffee
we could go to a movie theater.
She kissed me.
but if my dream ends today
when I open my eyes
was it even real in first place?
The city of stars always shines for everyone
and today is always the start
of something wonderful
Be it in Lalaland
Or be it in the real world
Where suffer is inevitable.
I’ll hold myself with discipline
with the hope of one day
waking you up with coffee, instead of bad news.
