Leadership is a skill that requires quick access to what is going on.

It’s the willingness to influence your world, and the willingness to be influenced by your world. Using the power within to make quick, confident and rational decisions that will move things forward.

The key to success is learning how to influence others by not influencing them.

Wu-wei.

Have you heard that? A chinese therm that means non-action.

The goal of a leader is to understand how people’s fears are shaping their behavior. And then help by being a supportive person to those around you.

You are allowing them to be conscientious of their own best version.

This is Leadership That Makes Difference:

Quick Start to step into Your Own leadership:

Possibility Mindset: → Once we shift our perception, circumstances open a world of possibilities to us. — By changing our approach to challenges and opportunities we bring a step change in everything we do. —
📍 What’s possible in this situation?”
📍 “How to turn this challenges into an opportunity?”

Ownership & Transparency → Being owner and responsible for what happened shows great character and maturity. Those that blame others are never open to check where they can become better. It’s empowering to release the burden of trying to be perfect all the times.
📍 “Why this matters and why do I care?”

We-focused Goal Setting → Create a system that focuses on global goals instead of specific ones. Those global goals are the values that enable everyone to be on the same page with a mutual objective.
📍 “What is our shared idea of success?”

Enable Action → Provide the means to people make their effort worth doing. If you as a leader create an environment that identifies and removes barriers, then change will become paramount.
📍 “What action will we take to move the process forward?”

Review & Refine → Keep engagement. A constant observation and analysis of the current direction are vital to avoid things going off the rails and ensure that people are doing their best effort.
📍 “What’s working and what’s not working?”

“We are ducks — And ducks fly together”

A good leader is one that inspires people to work smarter instead of working harder. Using the energy in a smarter way makes the organizations progress in a designed direction.

Being able to influence and be influenced by the people which we are leading, we frame the idea of development is a way that inspires action and creates trust between people.

Leadership is a matter of intelligence, trustworthiness, humaneness, courage, and discipline … Reliance on intelligence alone results in rebelliousness. The Exercise of humaneness alone results in weakness. Fixation on trust results in folly. Dependence on the strength of courage results in violence. Excessive discipline and sternness in command result in cruelty. When one has all five virtues together, each appropriate to its function, then one can be a leader. — Sun Tzu

PAUSE → ⚓

A temporary stop in your actions or speech interrupts typical reaction to ensure that what you’re about to do is in alignment. These are those 3 seconds between making a good decision or a bad call.

Active Questioning → 🙋

Questioning enables us to focus our attention, encourage exploration and elicit new ideas. Ask if what you’re about to do is in alignment with your goals and you will never regret anymore.

REFLECT → 💭

After pausing you will want to reflect and ask yourself:

  • What am I afraid of in this situation?
  • What do I typically do when I feel afraid?
  • What would I do if I felt safe and confident?

A good leader is vital to guide others in a direction of progress. This is a skill that we have to pursue as a way to be. Always searching for new approaches, changing both our personal & social environment.
