Poem 12

Imagine the gods
blessed and happy
above anything else possible to mortals
there is nothing they need accomplish
nothing they need set right
Contemplation is the only activity
worthy of the gods
it is the thing in people
that gods mostly appreciate

During this time of great grief
of pandemic and imminent death
going hand in hand with chaos.
Name something you care about
or that gives your life meaning

and contemplate your threats
the attachments your holding onto
allow the experience
of shock and disbelief
to be forcefully ripped apart
as you choose to focus

on hope and faith.
choose life
contemplate
a better world.
